Hiking

In this sedentary age of video games, computers and large screen televisions, Lonesome Valley offers a reconnection with nature on any of ten miles of hiking trails. This carefully designed network of pathways links every corner of the Valley with an abundance of awe-inspiring destinations along the way. Meadows, streams, waterfalls, magnificent granite faces and quiet forests provide the natural setting for these spectacularly scenic byways.

A connecting trail also links Lonesome Valley to neighboring Panthertown Valley, boasting more than 6,000 additional acres of Nantahala National Forest  to hike, bike, fish and enjoy.

If you have a mind to ramble further afield, there are over a million acres of public lands within a short drive, including Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Recreational Forest and Gorges State Park.
